Analysis of Music Video

This video is a narrative talking about a real life event. The singer is telling his experience flying with United Airlines. The video is made up of a series of wide shots with a couple medium shots of the singer’s guitar. The angle is straight on for the majority of the video, with only a couple clips being taken from a high or lower angle than the subject. The lighting is natural light with some studio lighting when the singer is shown singing against a black backdrop. The depth of field is deep, except in one scene where the clip of the artist strumming his guitar starts out of focus and then is focused as it progresses. The camera cuts from shots of the singer telling the story in his studio to shots showing a dramatized version of the story. The cuts match what the vocalist is singing. The camera has no movement itself, all of the movement is performed by the actors themselves and the camera remains stationary throughout the video.

Brainstorm

Music Video
Title:After All the Days
Tagline: Days gone by can still be in the present

Concept:
A young woman wakes up to find her boyfriend has left her. She wonders how her boyfriend feels now and reflects on her own feelings about the situation.

Treatment:
The colors in this video would be subdued. There would be a cuts between the past and the present.

Documentary
Title: Horse Therapy
Tagline: Riding horses, riding towards health

Concept: I volunteered at Reins of Life hippo therapy center all through high school. One of my younger brothers currently volunteers there, and this documentary would be focusing on Reins of Life's mission and my brother's experience working there.

Treatment: There would be footage of the Reins of Life property and riding sessions with a voiceover.

Narrative:
Title: Of Chocolate Importance
Tagline: I live for chocolate

Concept: A wo/man receives a call to pick up a package, and the mission is claimed to be a matter of life and death. In the course of it, the wo/man finds her/himself in running for her/his life.

Treatment: The film would be shot in black and white and the only only sound would be the background music in a reflection of silent film style movies.
